Blueberry Clafoutis / Clafoutis aux Myrtilles

6 CommentsBy zaza-cook

A tasty and healthy dessert!

Marmiton is my favorite French magazine. This month I found a great dessert in this magazine : a clafoutis. The original recipe is “a clafoutis aux cerises”/a cherry clafoutis.

At my farmer’s market, I found blueberries so I decided to use them for my clafoutis.

Traditionally, my whole family likes to make clafoutis with plums. I am not a big fan of this dessert. I prefer a blueberry clafoutis. I really love this dessert. My son, who doesn’t like dessert, loved it too. It’s certainly because this dessert does not have a lot of sugar.

Preparation : 10 minutes   Cooking : about 45 minutes

Ingredients :

  • 300 g blueberries
  •  2 eggs + 2 eggs yolks
  • 25 cl (250 ml) milk
  • 60 g (4 Tbs) butter
  • 100 g (3/4 cup) plain flour
  • 100 g (5/8 cup) light brown sugar organic
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • confectioners’ sugar (optional)

Directions :

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. or 180 degrees C.
  2. Melt the butter in a pie plate in the oven (I used my French round glass pie plate 10 inch/25 cm).
  3. Whisk the eggs in a bowl. Add salt and sugar. Then add the flour and mix with a wood spoon until it’s all blended .
  4. Take the melted butter out of the oven, add it to the bowl. Then pour the milk while stirring.
  5. With a paper towel, grease the pie plate using the remaining butter.
  6. Place the blueberries in the plate, then slowly pour the mixture on top.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes, until the top starts to brown (I personally turn off the oven after 45 minutes and leave it for 10 more minutes). Sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar before serving (optional). Serve warm.

Temps de préparation : 10 minutes   Temps de cuisson : environ 45 minutes

Ingrédients :

  • 300 g myrtilles
  • 2 oeufs + 2 jaunes d’oeuf
  • 25 cl (250 ml) lait
  • 60 g beurre
  • 100 g farine
  • 100 g sucre de canne roux, bio
  • 1 cuillère à café d’extrait de vanille
  • 1 pincée de sel

Directions :
