Sundried Tomatoes Tuna Rillettes / Rillettes de Thon aux Tomates Séchées

5 CommentsBy zaza-cook

This French recipe is very easy to make. And you can adjust your additions to suit your preferences. For example, you can switch shallots for tabasco, add basil or chives in summer time, or pour some drops of Cognac.

The holiday festivities are approaching, it’s an excellent idea for an appetizer!

It is also excellent to enjoy with a crunchy endive salad.

Preparation time : 10 minutes    + 1 hour in the fridge

Ingredients :

  • 1 can (Net WT 4.5 oz, 128 g) (DR WT 4 oz, 113 g) albacore tuna in extra virgin olive oil
  • 35 g (1.25 oz) sundried tomatoes
  • 100 g (3.5 oz) Philadelphia
  • 1 shallot (optional)
  • salt and pepper
  • lime
  • bread or crakers to serve

Directions :

  1. Drained tuna and sundried tomatoes. Cut the sundried tomatoes in small pieces. Peel the shallot and cut it in small pieces.
  2. In a bowl and using a fork, crumble the tuna into small but chunky pieces.
  3. Add tomatoes, shallot, cheese, salt and pepper to taste. Mix until combined.
  4. Cover the bowl and let it chill in the refrigerator at least one hour.
  5. Serve with bread or toast, and lime.

Bon appétit 🙂
