The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

My daughter came home one day, last week, with a lot of chocolate chip cookies that she made in cooking class. Again, a delicious and new recipe!

Chocolat Chip Cookies.

When I picked her up with her big bag of cookies, they were so warm that they perfumed the air with their chocolaty goodness!

Chocolat Chip Cookies-

I’ve never made any chocolate chip cookies in my whole life. I know you’re probably thinking, “what?”

I’ve never seen my mother or my grandmothers make this recipe. It’s probably because, it’s an American recipe invented by the chef Ruth Grave Wakefield in 1938.

So I decided to make my daughter’s recipe.

When I was taking them out of the oven, the beautiful golden cookies made me want to take a bite.

Now I want to wake up every morning with fresh cookies for breakfast!

Thanks Sarah! Your cooking classes are so wonderful for me too!

Makes 4 dozen cookies   Preparation time : 15 minutes  Total time : 50 minutes

Ingredients :

  • 2 1/4 cups (285 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) (225 g) butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (115 g) packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups (340 g.) chocolate chips or chocolate chunks

Directions :

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degree F. (190 degree C.)
  2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chunks or chocolate chips. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
  3. Bake for 9 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes, remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Oh yes, there is almost nothing better than just-baked, still-warm, chocolate chip cookies from your own oven! They smell heavenly and they taste amazing. It always hits the spot and when in doubt, bake them and enjoy them. These sound fantastic.
